I AM A PART OF ART: CATA ANNUAL Art SHOW

(12/23) LICHTENSTEIN GROUP 12

A gallery wall with six paintings, two sculptures, and an array of paper birds

ABOUT THESE PAINTINGS:

This vibrant collection of paintings practically leaps off the wall, thanks to a delightful installation of paper birds created by artists from Berkshire County Arc.

On the left are three unique paintings by artists Alex, Mark Harris, and Franny Brown—all employing similar abstract forms that shift from one painting to the next. In Alex’s painting, the forms seem to resemble an ear of corn; in Mark’s work it transforms into a school of fish dotting the surface of a stream; and in Franny’s painting the form explodes into a bright, energetic sunrise.

Paired with these paintings are works by Julia Banducci—who, in her stunning pastel solar system expertly uses negative space to convey the vastness of the universe—as well as a playful portrait by Ethan Margolis and a striking abstract work by Bill Decker, aptly titled Tree Pumpkin.

Accompanying the paintings are two fun and whimsical sculptures by CATA artists using recycled materials.
