I AM A PART OF ART: CATA ANNUAL Art SHOW

(13/23) LICHTENSTEIN GROUP 13

Gallery wall with five abstract paintings

ABOUT THESE PAINTINGS:

This vibrant collection of paintings instantly evokes images of autumn, most directly in Connie Most’s vivid painting of a tree. The tones of its leaves—fiery oranges, reds, pinks, and yellows—exquisitely convey the best moments of autumn in the Berkshires. Those colors radiate throughout this grouping, connecting to the stylish mixed media pieces by Corinne Morrison and George Wallace and pairing beautifully with the abstract paintings by Cameryn Catelotti and Mike Fazos.

To create his painting Wild Buffalo, Mike Fazos used a laser pointer and worked closely with a trained assistant which allows him to control every aspect of the creative process (an adaptive technique called “Artistic Realization Technologies”). His artwork is often inspired by nature and weather, evident by his expressive titles. As in many of his works, Wild Buffalo consists of luminous color washes—layers and layers of paint that are infused with metallic and hints of bright tones that envelop the canvas.
