About the Exhibit:

“Friendly Universe” features vibrant paintings by CATA artists with disabilities. Many of the works were created in CATA’s Adaptive Painting Program, where artists with disabilities use a variety of adaptive techniques to bring their creative vision to life. Additional works were created in CATA’s new Supported Studio program (including Laurie Sunderland’s Untitled painting, above). In the Supported Studio, CATA artists work on self-directed projects with the support of a CATA Faculty Mentor.

All works in the exhibit are available for sale, with proceeds supporting commissions for the individual artists.

Join us for a fun and free opening celebration on Tuesday, December 10 from 3-5pm! Drop in any time to meet and celebrate with the artists. Free refreshments will be provided. All are welcome! Registration is requested— click here to RSVP.

This event is made possible thanks to Frames on Wheels, the Massachusetts Cultural Council, and generous supporters like you. This exhibit is part of CATA’s “Art on Tour” program, where original works of art created by CATA artists travel throughout the year to museums, galleries, community centers, and other venues in Berkshire and Columbia counties.
