ABOUT THESE PAINTINGS:

Earlier this year, several CATA artists were compelled to create pastel depictions of animals that were being displaced by wildfires across the globe. These four pieces by Scott Steadman, Benedicta Bonsu, Sean Gerson, and Zach, focus on birds—and connect through their use of pastel and subject matter to the drawings of feathers in this exhibit.

The drawings are paired with an earthy, layered paper collage by Aaron Mosher, creating a natural complement to the life-like drawings above.
