I AM A PART OF ART: CATA ANNUAL Art SHOW

(3/11) GROUP 3

Six paintings on a wall

ABOUT THESE PAINTINGS:

As with the previous group of paintings, the self portraits in this section are a powerful medium for CATA artists to express their individualityโ€”to show the world who they are and how they see themselves. The abstract works here use a variety of media including watercolor, graphite, oil pastel, dye and shaving cream.

In his untitled piece, Jason used a technique called paper marbling, layering shaving cream and mixing in colors before pressing a paper across the surface to transfer the image. With this method, Jason deliberately leaves the object and detail of his work up to the viewers’ imagination.
