I AM A PART OF ART: CATA ANNUAL Art SHOW
(8/11) GROUP 8
(8/11) GROUP 8
The paintings in this set share a unique use of color and light. In the top painting, Karlie Belliveau uses striking brushstrokes of green and black to convey a sense of mood and place. What appears is like a scene from a Victorian novel, with a shadowy character in black moving against an ominous background of green, yellow, and white.
The two smaller works by Victor Torres and Buddy Clark were created using a relief printing technique. You can see how each work has been built up layer by layerโwith the artists choosing different textures, color and pattern as the piece was created.
