16 Feb Rare Tornado: CATA “Art on Tour” at Hudson Hall
Join us for the opening of RARE TORNADO, a vibrant exhibit of artwork created by CATA artists with disabilities at Hudson Hall in Hudson, NY. The exhibit features paintings by seven local artists who use the innovative Artistic Realization Technologies (A.R.T.) technique to create their work. A free, public art opening will be held on Friday, April 27 from 12pm-2pm with many of the artists in attendance.
16 Feb Shapes in Space: A CATA A.R.T. Retrospective
Join us for the opening of SHAPES IN SPACE, a retrospective exhibit of artwork created by CATA artists with disabilities at the Good Purpose Gallery in Lee, MA. The exhibit features paintings by CATA artists who use the Artistic Realization Technologies (A.R.T.) technique to create their work. “SHAPES IN SPACE: A CATA A.R.T. Retrospective” offers a rare opportunity to experience this vibrant body of work created throughout the last twelve years. A free, public art opening will be held on March 15 from 4:30-6:30pm with many of the artists in attendance.
18 Jan Art on Tour – Kimball Farms
CATA is partnering with Kimball Farms Life Care in Lenox, MA to present its latest Art on Tour gallery series! Join us for a public opening on Wednesday, January 24 from 3:30-5:30pm, with writer/actor Rachel Siegel reading selected works by writers with disabilities from CATA’s Writers Workshop.
18 Jan “Make Purple” at the State House
CATA’s Moving Company travels to Boston for two “flash mob” performances of “Make Purple” at the Massachusetts State House on Thursday, September 21. The performances are free to the public and take place at the Grand Staircase within the State House at 1:15pm and 1:30pm. The piece, which premiered at CATA’s “Everyday People” showcase in May, was choreographed by Dawn Lane, who directs The Moving Company and serves as CATA’s Artistic Director. The Moving Company appears at the State House by invitation of State Representative Smitty Pignatelli.
