I AM A PART OF ART: CATA ANNUAL Art SHOW

(22/23) LICHTENSTEIN GROUP 22

Galery wall with four paintings

ABOUT THESE PAINTINGS:

Andrew LaPatin’s flair for illustration is on full display in his dynamic self-portrait. Using acrylic paint and a restrained color palette, Andrew created a portrait with incredible depth and character. (See another portrait by Andrew LaPatin in Group 3).

Paired with Andrew’s portrait are three works that use similar colors to convey wildly different subject matter. In his refreshing take on Picasso’s own portraits, Bobby’s Recreating Picasso achieves a powerful expressive depth with bold brushstrokes. Cathy Marden’s joyful, sun-soaked flower draws the viewer in with its warmly colored center and shock of green leaves, while Maryellen Harris’s still life painting Apples in Bowl sets a tranquil scene awash in blues and spotted with delightful touches of red.
